Does anyone have any experience with the exhaust damper actuators on the 4.0 TFSI cars. My understanding is they fail open and the actuators close them for “quiet” mode and warmup. My passenger side butterfly is stuck in the 1/2 closed position. I have disconnected the plug and it does not spring open. I can reach in there with a stick and move it to the open position but it springs back to the mid closed once I let go.

I have purchased the bypass plugs so it won’t throw a code but wondering what to do with the butterfly. I don’t want to make any permanent mods so is my only choice a new actuator?
