D4 Transmission Hard Shifting

D4 Transmission Hard Shifting
Hello All,
I am new to the forum and have found lots of good information here, so I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 2015 A8L with 67000 miles. The transmission just started slamming when shifting either into 5th downshifting or out of 5th upshifting. As the transmission is a sealed unit, I have no idea what to check. All other shifts are normal and smooth. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Vondelta, have you checked for any fluid leaks or if there is a software update.
I had a small leak that was causing a "no shift/stalling" when turning. I had the leak fixed, and the dealer performed a software update. The shifting issue was gone immediately.
Good luck.

I don't know too much about that engine/trans combo sorry, I would start with checking all codes and making sure data values are within range.
From there the next least invasive thing you can do is perform the throttle and transmission relearn/reset procedures so that it's a known variable that the car is "set" correctly.
Next and honestly if it were my car the first thing I would do is pull the pan off and inspect the state of the filter, fluid, magnets, solenoids etc directly with a multi meter.

There are no codes and I did the relearn/reset procedures by pushing the gas pedal all the way down for 30 seconds etc etc. Where can I find the values of all of the solenoids ect. You state to check them with my multimeter, but I have no idea what I'm looking for.

FSM, did you use VAGCOM or VCDS for the resets? I'm not sure the pedal method works on a D4 and for mine I had to use the software approach but again I have the 4.0 not 3.0
