Yes, mine unit (Linear) also has a learn button and I've tried using it, but I can't seem to get past the steps before you press the learn button (Audi flashing 3 or 1 light).

I'm also wondering if anyone could check their Garage opener version information as shown in the original post. I'd like to know if there's anything unusual about my status code, etc. Thanks.

When I programmed mine, I believe I pressed the learn button first and then the preferred Audi button 1,2,or 3. I did not do it in the MMI.

My 2015 USA S8 is same code stuff as yours on the screen. Your garage door is at least going up or down when you are pressing the handheld remote, correct?

I would be giving the control head a wipe/lobotomy about now.

When I got my '15 S8 I tried everything. Worked on it a couple of weeks. Finally called Homelink, and the said to put new batteries in the remote. Worked the first time with new batteries.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I checked the batteries in the remote and my battery tester says their good, but I'll get new ones in case it needs the extra juice. Garage door handheld remote definitely works, and had no problem last week programming my wife's new F-Pace (different and easier process). I'll try new batteries and a few of the other suggestions and report back.

Bingo. Even though the batteries in the handheld remote were working fine and tested well on the battery tester, I put new batteries in. I also moved the remote around to find the right spot which was a bit further to the side of the car than I thought. Anyway, all done. Thanks again everyone.

Great! That's the good part about this forum and conversations. Sure helped me the past 4 years. Had some really enlightening experiences and some real "duh" moments!

The homelink "antenna" is directly below the pillar between the headlight and grill on the drivers side.
