Cold weather Package
Interested in a used A8L (2011 or '12), but the cold weather package is a must for me. Any visual cues that will help me know the car has the cold weather package? Where is the steering wheel heater and the rear seat heater buttons located?

The rear seat heater controls are located on the top forward part of the rear armrest, similar to the below picture, but without the seat ventilation controls in 2011/2012.

Thanks for the info.
The rear armrest is usually up in the pics so it will be tough to tell. Usually I get a front-on shot of the steering wheel so that will also be tough to locate.

If you get a picture into the trunk, you should be able to see the ski pass through. I don't think the little door is there in a non CW package car is it?
Edit: Did a little research on Cars.com and it appears that non-CW package cars have a carpeted filler plate instead of the plastic door with the latch, so you should be able to tell from a trunk pic.

Heated steering wheel
Just bought a 2011 A8 and thought it had the CW package as it has heated rear seats. It has no switch below steering wheel adjustment, only a filler plate. Can a heated steering wheel be activated by simply adding a switch to steering column?

You would also need the heated steering wheel itself as there are versions with and without the heating element in them.
