I ordered https://www.wakaa.us/product/wireles...-mmi-for-audi/ it looks exactly same as all others but price is competitive. Will let you know how it work out.

I’ve installed it twice, the first time took 4 hours and I almost gave up all because of what was mentioned about getting the mmi to slide all the way back. The second time took 90 min. I found that there is a sweet spot in the top left where you can fit the big black connector into to keep it up and out of the way for when you slide the mmi back in

I would have to agree on the wiring nightmare behind the MMI unit. This almost drove me to insanity ..
I ended up after several hours with the same issue - needing to push quite hard to seat the unit, and convinced I was going to damage the wiring - but all seems well.
I have the same unit from the same source - and it works really well.

In my case, I was pushing MMI unit in the place and my neighbor was lifting cables behind the unit. In simple terms it was lift and push little by little and everything fit perfect. As I previously mentioned unit I bought was straight from China for $299 and it was delivered in record time by DHL.
Unit itself works great, Apple CarPlay works and looks the best in my opinion. But that's due to strick development requirements from Apple itself. Now Android Auto is okay in quality, even after MCU and firmware update. The unit does have connections for front and back camera if you like to purchase one.
During the install I noticed that Audi used tank like metal pins to hold driver side lower dash, for what I don't know but you have to give it a very strong pull to get that part out. With few brakes it took me about 3 hours to install everything. Not bad I would say.

Well I got it all installed and is it normal to no longer to be able to use the regular MMI interface to control an older iPod? I hooked my iPod up to the regular Audi connector to the MMI and the song info displays normally but the sound still diverts to the CarPlay box even when selecting iPod input instead of aux. Also enabling aux via green screen I found that the audio doesn’t connect most of the time selecting aux vs not enabling it and using the MMI aux cord to populate the option in the MMI and then selecting aux.
