It would have been nice to have either 1MPH increment or a full 5MPH but I can live with it. If you hold the yoke it will jump in 5MPH increments.

The 5mph jump does work, but you have watch the speedo either going up/down in speed to get -1 mph under speed limit, and push set button at just the right second. So I guess the Germans set it in 4kph increments. Otherwise you always have to set it at -2.5 mph under speed limit. I is just not the precise German way!

Not sure I follow what the problem is here. You set the cruise and then adjust as needed. If you are trying to get say 46MPH you are out of luck.

Yes, that is the point, no 1 mph increments. Never had a cruise control that would not let you adjust +\-1mph.
Audi is -/+2.5 mph.

Are you guy's saying that there is no way to get the car's cruise control set to 46mph? can't you just take the car to 46mph and then press "set" on the cruise control?

My 2005 has 2.5mph increments, but you can set it at any speed and then when you press + it goes up 2.5mph and when you press - it goes down 2.5mph. It is something that I'm used to and I just go with it. I drove our other car on a trip recently and I felt like I was pressing the + and - buttons too much to get the desired effect.

Yes, that's exactly how I do it.
If I need to make adjustments I press the lever on the floor and hit set again.

You may also set it before putting the vehicle in drive.
That's the only way I could see this being an issue unless the driver is OCD to the point of needing an exact speed on the digital display.

Am I missing something here? You can not set the cruise at your exact desired speed unless you at that speed in the Audi. . If I am going 60 mph in my Mercedes and want to go 69 mph, I can set it at 69, then the car accelerates to 69mph. Pretty simple concept. In and Audi you can only set it at 70 mph or 67.5mph.
Otherwise you have to manually accelerate to 69mph and hit set button.

Yes, that is the only way to do it and get an exact setting other than a multiple of the increment.

It doesn't bother me to be over/under a little, but I can see how it could be a potential issue in a "1 mph over" state or if you wanted exact settings.
I highly doubt Audi will change it based on past experience

I'll have to test that 46MPH idea. I normally set the cruse to be even digits dividable by 5. The rest is unimportant and I think this is how Audi is looking at it too.
