Getting both turbos replaced by dealership. They are picking up 50% of the tab.
Also filed below. Disappointing that the car has failed at such a low mileage. https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/VehicleComplaint/

Im looking at a 2017 s8 with 58k miles that was originally titled in MA. From looking over the thread it would appear this MY still falls victim to this. Luckily, it should fall under the 7/70 emissions warranty correct? (even though it will be brought to NH, a non carb state) I'm going to see the car tomorrow and will look at the part numbers on the turbos to see if they are old or new. Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks!

Default 2013 Audi Turbos Failed at 72.5k miles

Driving interstate pull into gas station. Car serviced and very well maintained. Driven gently. Car would not start. No issue prior. Very sudden. No error codes in system which is apparently normal for turbo failure. Towed 140 miles to Audi in Charlotte. Dealer quotes me 10k repair - 3k each for the turbos plus 20 hours of labor at 140 per hour. I was thinking doing other things. Audi apparently agreed to cover the parts. I’m paying for labor. Total cost is 3k. For a known issue this still seems pretty ridiculous.

I am selling my 2013 S6. Already picked up a 2020 M5 Competition as the replacement. While I never had a hint of problem with my S6, I decided it would be best to get out before it happens. 7 years has been a good run. Time to move on.

Default Hit or miss but mostly miss

Most service managers are complete A-holes. They make commission and are not generally going to assist you if it has a negative effect to their pay.

I’ve been through three of these ****** since our local Audi dealer opened here in Florida. (City name withheld in case mine reads these forums))

Being that guy that buys pizza for the dealership on occasion has helped me navigate the dirty underbelly of these wallet raping institutions.

When my sweet beast (2018 A8L 4.0 Sport Exec) hit 45k I was told by the weeble at F&I it would be a smart investment to buy the new and improved “Audi extended service contract”

After 2k miles of deliberations and some playing with the terms offered, I pulled the trigger. Paid approximately $3k for the 3 yrs / 100k.

Ho Lee ****- best decision ever. The extended warranty is managed by the scumiest in the car business, Fidelity. However, my dealership is always going to bat for me!

Before the ink was even dry, my beast and my right foot took out another driveshaft and diff bearing. Fidelity refused the claim and offered to refund me in full. The pizza devouring class lived up to my expectations and demanded Fidelity do what’s right!

Now at 74k, the beast has eaten a few turbos and as of this moment, I am awaiting approval from fidelity to suck the tailpipe and go in the red for the second time on my $3k purchase.

I will try and push the contractual agreement of “not to exceed the original purchase price” in repair costs by driving this sexy **** till she’s died and been resurrected a few times all while pissing off a vampire squid insurance company!

After the turbos are replaced, I’m going stage two on my fat assed girl and let’s see how many 458’s I can eat!

I'm almost done with the JH Motorsports relocation kit and thought I'd share my strainer and turbo pics. Turbos spin nice and smooth. Just the tiniest bit of movement but not enough to think I'm headed for failure in my opinion (but open to other interpretations). I'll say that while I do like to mash the go pedal on occasion, it's by no means abused at my hands. Can't speak for the previous owner(s) as I got into this car at just under 70k mi.

2015 A8 L, 89K mi.

FYI, I’m certain I’m the first to do this job on my 2015 and it came with the “F” revision of pn 079-115-175. Current available is “G.”

Almost a full eclipse!

Sorry if I'm asking an already answered question but I just read this entire thread and didn't see it.

Does anyone know when Audi came out with the revised chk valve, oil screen and separator?
Also, what model yr started using the revised parts?
What is the expected cost to replace just the screen and vale? and is there an aftermarket screen hack that can be purchased which will allow for an easier and more frequent replacement?

I was just talking to a dealership about buying a '16 S8+ with 30k miles on it but now I'm having second thoughts! Maybe backup of a lexus '19 LS500 isn't that bad of an option.

Thanks
