Default Windshield wipers not working, and im not talking bout ice caking on the blades

Ok guys i have a huge issue, last nite my windshield wipers were working fine until i pulled over and put the car in park. I thought that was strange bc i dont have rain sensors. I tried using the leveler to chnage the speed nothing happened. I checked the driver side fusebox and the fuse (40 n slot 25) is fine. The blades look like they are stuck in service position. Heres the "good" part my mmi display is still down until my service apt. Jan 7th. Is there any other fuses/relays or and tips/tricks i can do to fix the problem.

Earlier this year, my linkage seized up on me. The driver's side bearing which is the tube where the threaded shaft slides through is what actually seized for me. The shaft is steel, the casting is cast aluminum but there is a brass sleeve. The steel and brass mated. I removed the mech to determing this. The linkage mech is over $300 without the motor assembly. It also took me over 30 minutes to remove. I disassembled the mech even though they don't sell parts. I had to beat the shaft out of the sleeve with a 5# sledgehammer. Once out I used a rat tail file to smooth things out and then greased the living siht(sic) out of both shafts and reassembled. Next time I will use penetrating oil and a small torch before beating it out.

Supposedly, VAG-COM can tell you if the motor mech is bad. That's about $400 IIRC.

Use standard automotive troubleshooting techniques to determine if the motor is bad, or the linkage. Or, is the motor not getting power (bad switch, wiring, connector or fuse.

By the way, my name is Bruce, but I'm from North America.
