It has damage history, that explains it. I dont trust cars, which have been repaired and put back on Copart. Sold as is, cant return it.

Check engine light it on too which could be big money, especially on a W12.

+1.

I never look at those, if it is such a great deal then why not list it to the public and make the same $ or more? I have bought and still own salvage vehicles (my A8 is salvage) which I can see the damage, asses, and fix myself, that way I know it is done right and to my standards. Who knows what this car has gone through and how it was fixed. May be a great deal, but most probably it has other issues that are not worth the trouble and dumped at auction.

BTW, this is a copart car, the site on the link just reposts it from their feed.

Copart.com, or also try iaai.com. Largest salvage auction sites.

That all depends on price. Whatever is wrong can be fixed. For the right price she can be nice keeper. Problem would be if damage was flood. In that case it can't be imported to Canada.

Depending on what's wrong with the car, i think the price is a bit high.

You can buy from europe for 7-12k€ W12:s with small defects with same mileage.

I bought my W12 LANG 2008 (facelift) with good options and 188tkm (117kmiles) for 14.100€uros, and the only defects are a small crack in the rear window, a bump in the sideskirt under the driver's door, missing second key and pre-heater remote. Technically works 100%.

A W12 can be a problem with MIL light with that mileage.

At easiest there's just an intake leak, the injector O-ring seals to the intake manifold are prone to crack. This creates intake leaks and a MIL light.

Then if the compression is off in one cylinder, or stretched timing chains due to poor maintenance, the problem is expensive.

Buying from Europe is simple. Importing to North America not really.

P.S. What maintenance prevents chains stretch?

Honestly I know a co-worker who buys and flips cars from copart. He buys, fixes, catches up on maintenance, then sells locally for a profit. A relist on copart is some one who got in over their head out realized walking away was the cheapest route. He won't even consider cars like that.

I wouldn't walk away from a car with a check engine light, even aw12, I would scan it and see if I'm still interested. I would definitely pay a lot less for a car with one, as them not fixing prior to the sale says a lot about how they care for and repair cars.
