Default Headlight bulb or something else?

My passenger headlight quit working a couple of days ago, both low beam and high beam. 2009 S8 US Model. Here is the scan error.

Is the low beam and the high beam included in the same bulb or are they separate? Hoping it is the same as I would not think they would both go out at the same time if separate. Hoping it is just a bulb change. Looking online it appears the HID bulb is $125.

How hard is it to change the bulb? I saw some tips in the other Bi-Xeon thread but would appreciate any advice on just changing the bulb.

Thanks

One other rant. The car has about 45k miles on it. My prior 2008 S8 also had about 45k miles on it when the drivers side headlight quit working. I never had to deal with that as the car was rear-ended and total a couple weeks after the light quit working.

Is this normal for the bulb to only last that long?

Do you have bulb warning on your instrument cluster?

There is only one HID bulb per side. Low beam controlled by a shutter.

Default One bulb; I think code is something else.

Probably just a burned out bulb, or maybe just a bad connection. As Mishar asked though, seems like there should be a display warning symbol. I would check fuses too.

These are really tight on my W12, but I recently did both sides w/ the pretty standard D3 procedure--go in through the fender liner to get to it. Takes about an hour with some knack for it, and a few pop in plastic rivet fasteners you can expect to break/sacrifice. Roll the dice supposed Philips or sometimes OSRAM D2S's are available for considerably less than dealer price on the web (or eBay or Amazon), but there are always rumored counterfeiting issues. It was all posted on recently; search a bit.

The other code sounds like the leveling control, says it occurred only once and was five months ago. I would check the wiring connectors during any bulb replacement, clear the code and move on.

I do have the bulb warning indicator in the instrument cluster.

Sounds like it is normal to replace these so I will just order two bulbs. I always thy to go OEM when replacing items but will l just by these for another vendor given the price difference and the fact OEM suppliers should be able to provide the bulb.

Assume I can just stop by the dealer for the clips. I did have the driver fender liner off a while back, when I was troubleshooting a steering noise.

Thanks for the quick input.

Does anyone know the part number / bulb number for the turning assist light?

Thanks

Had a chance to replace the bulbs today. The passenger headlight bulb was pretty easy. As others have documented, removed the wheel and wheel liner and had easy access to the back of the headlight assembly.

Did end up removing the top of the air box to change the turn assist bulb. Not to bad and I was able to blow off the filter which was relatively clean.

All good now. Thanks again for the help here.
