The first time you use clay to remove the acid rain and bits of tar & asphalt; polishing is in order followed by a good waxing. If you wax the car often, future acid rain deposits as well as tar & asphalt droppings from road work will usually come off with the next washing. Just re-wax and you're good.

Basically, I clay the car once or twice a year and immediately wax it as there is no need to polish if you protect the car with wax after the last time you polished it.

My take anyway.

Does this look like an 11 year old car with 260,000+ miles on it? This was taken after washing it at a "quarter" car wash in Reno and just applying Griot's spray-on wax as we were in a hurry to get to the Shasta Dam. A day earlier it was covered in salt from Bonneville. A couple "before" pictures also attached.

Looks like a $million it does. Nice lighting, highlights the shoulders and subtle forward motion angle of the body line, as it falls off to the majestic & timeless slab side design. There is also a symmetry in the A8 that you've captured or reflected in the architecture. The softer, organic hue of the A8 is well presented in this atmosphere.

This is the most striking photo (straight side on) shot of this vintage, some of the best factory wheels ever and truly a work of art.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the pic at IGT in Reno. Unfortunately, at Bally down the street, the lighting was quite different. When we were in Vegas several days later, it was night time so no decent photos were possible.
