Swapping MMI control board anything I should know??
I'm swapping out control board with one that one of the kind members on here sold me. I'm just wondering if there's anything special I have to do other then maybe pull battery cables to make it work. Is there anyway to avoid component protection? And if it comes on is there anyway to turn it off without taking it to dealer? Thanks in advance guys!!

No need to disconnect battery. Just strait forward replacement. There is nothing that you can do in order to prevent Component Protection and you have to go to a dealer to remove it.

component protection
"You have component protection came on because you didn't select and omit all the components in your car when you replaced the gateway"

Neither one. The only module he changed is Gateway and it doesn't manifest Component Protection like some other modules do, but there is a code registered. Hi added F-bas to his original MMI and other modules do not have Component Protection.
