'Thunk' into second gear still happening....
I posted this a few months back...'06 A8L, otherwise perfect, when cold or sometimes even warm, there is a distinct thunk when it goes from 1st to 2nd. No other gear change issues, and it engages gears just fine. Has no impact whether hot/cold outside, or if on hill or not. And it's not constant. It will happen once, then not again until hours or days later.
Taken to dealer 3 times to be left overnight and checked, dealer cannot repeat it. No CEL or other faults, all checked.
Anyone aware of any TSB's or other issues similar to this, would really appreciate hearing about it.
Going to ask for meeting with District Svc Manager tomorrow, to see if there are any reports of this anywhere else. Hard to believe it won't happen for dealer, harder to believe no one else has had it happen either.
Thanks!

I had a similar issue with my '04...
But it was was specific to the transmission in "S" mode and it was the 2-3 shift that was clunky.
I'd made similar inquiries at the service department and despite reprogramming the transmission, it was always an issue for the time I'd leased it.
