Oooh, could be an EPIC three thousandth post!!

My brother drove his 944 turbo S there until every crevice was full of salt. Said you could be going 125 and just **** the wheel and enjoy the spin / slide... forEVAR! How bizarre a thought!

Ahh, Kalifornia!

MP,
thanks for sharing all that info. I find these cars fascinating, and well-documented AND empirical information is what makes this board great. Now as for "I heard that this causes that..."; not so much.

What a great shop to post such detailed information! ( http://www.autohausnc.com/zf-transmission/ ).

Mine has only one little rectangular heat exchanger dangling from the transmission, FWIW.
I guess I don't have the extra cooler.

Misha, it is less perplexing now that I know the rationale; higher-powered cars get an extra cooler and (probably) more fluid to dissipate the heat. I read the Bentley as if it said "Hey random cars have this one and the rest get this."

As I continue to show my lack of knowledge, my transmission code is HHV. I assume it is the separate fluid system.

Right. HHV has separate oil system.
