Default Open/close trunk with remote fob

Yesterday the trunk was opened, I pushed the trunk remote, I heard clicking - It didn't do anything. So, how to click to get the trunk close when it's opened. I may design one myself.

- The logic:
1. When it's open, the fob still sends signal to the latch and try to open. Which signal causes the latch to activate?
2. I need to find out the logic is on when I hit the close button on the trunk to close.
3. Where is the sensor that tells the car the trunk is open.
4. Just AND the open sensor signal and the latch signal to a relay and tie the output to the close button.
5. Since the button on the door also tie to the trunk latch, it should also work.

This circuit shouldn't cost more than $5.

Cheers,

Louis

I don't use it every day, but it is very handy.

I saw a D3 stop and discharge a passenger as its power trunk opened; the kid grabbed her backpack from the trunk and then, wondrously, the trunk powered gracefully closed! Now I know how those nature-show narrators feel as they spot something never before seen in the wild!

I got home and couldn't wait to tell my wife. She said "just get it to pass emissions, mmkay?", but she DID admit it'd be a nice feature to have! (It has since passed emissions).

PS Louis I think you need to edit the title now that the threads are rearranged.

I was able to code this feature on my 7series, so I was excited when I saw that trunk button in my A8, other members spoke of a module..there's gotta be a way to use this button to close.

Anyone has a list of available coding options?

Jake, it's not too hard, when I get the other working, I'll make the foot "thingy" just like my daughter would say.
