I purchased another 04 a8L after my old one was totaled by a semi. The seller told me the rear parking sensor does not work. It's been taken to the dealership several times, even replacing it. It still doesn't work & Audi service couldn't tell us why. Has anyone else had an issue with just their rear parking sensor not beeping/working?

There was a recent tread with a similar problem. VCDS scan would help.

One of mine didn't work disabling the whole system, did a scan determined which one it was, replaced it, and now everything works fine. That's really weird how even the dealer cannot fix it, are you sure it's a sensor and not the module? Maybe the wiring it corroded for that sensor or cut somewhere.

It can be fixed. But you need to know more about the nature of the problem and a VCDS scan would be of great help. I recently went through some parking sensor issues and finally got it fixed. Here's the thread:
