Pricing Question
Hi Everyone, first off, I would like to echo the sentiments of many posters about the community on this board. It has been invaluable for questions for relative novices like myself.
It has come time for me to part with my D3 that I have owned for about 28 months. My thought is to sell it as a private party as I have had many things replaced on the car as well as some remaining warranty time which I'm sure the dealer will not take into account. I'm interested in what folks feel would be a fair price. Below is the rundown on the car:
-2004 A8L Silver/Black Interior - Purchased 01/2012 with 44,000 on it. It now has 72,000 on it.
-Audi Pure Platinum Warranty - $250 deductible - Serviced through Fidelity - This is the highest level of coverage and I was only able to get a 2004 covered because it had less than 50,000 miles on it when I bought it.
-20,000 miles left on the warranty and about 20 months
-The car has been dealer serviced since I have owned it and has had all scheduled maintenance done.
Replaced since I have owned it:
-Timing belt incl water pump and thermostat
-L and R front struts incl upper control arm bushings (warranty)
-L and R rear level sensors (warranty)
-Battery - This winter
-Left Rear brake caliper (warranty)
-Parking brake module (warranty)
-L and R washer fluid hoses for headlamps
-Trunk Motor (warranty) although the trunk still does not open regularly which is a common problem on this car
-2011 Nav DVD
-Gateway 500 iPhone/MP3 unit
-Right engine mount (warranty)
What it needs:
-Tires
-Alignment
-Windshield (there is a spidered crack in the drivers side, off to the side. It does not impede visibility but should probably be replaced. Audi price to do so is about $750, Safelite or the like is about $700.
As you can see, there has been a lot of work done to the parts that commonly fail on these cars over the life of the car. It runs like a charm and I'll miss it, but it is probably time for me to move on. I'm thinking somewhere in the $18,000 range given the new parts and the remainder of the warranty but would be very interested in what you folks think.
