I've made a set to test on my car and they work spot on perfect !
I had to remove the motor itself from the case and clean the inside of the case to perfection, then apply a tiny amount of grease here and there and job done.
Thanks A LOT !

What filament material was used in the 3D printing of the gears?

I'm looking at doing this myself now too, other than "not PLA", any recommendations on common materials? hydra research looks to have reasonable costs for small production runs, a couple of different nylons offered, one with a CF designation, carbon fiber reinforced?
I actually work in the plastics industry, but blow molding and 3D printing don't have too much in common.

I'm having these quoted now, if the carbon reinforced nylon works out, they're actually cheap enough to almost give away for the cost of shipping. If not, I'll try a different material option, but the nylon CF looks to have really good physical specs, as long as it can be printed at a high enough resolution, I think it should work well.

It seems every few years someone tries this. I did the same last year. I paid to have it modeled and had a couple prototypes made. The prototypes were either too low of resolution or too brittle. There is also the issue of there being two gears that actually strip. At that point the investment became a little too much for me to pursue because I was afraid I wouldn't get my money back.I hope you have better luck. I ultimately just bought another tweeter on eBay.
For those who don't care about the mechanical up and down function, you can also remove the tweeter, prop it in the upright position and then unplug the motor. You may have to take the assembly apart to get it into that position but it's fairly straight forward. You can stuff a piece of folded cardboard in the housing and be set for life. The tweeters won't go down any more but they'll work.
