Damn sorry to hear that your D3 has bitten the dust. I'm glad everybody walked away safely. Are you planning on getting another one?

Hello Everyone,

Resurrecting this thread to let everyone know that the vehicle will be up for salvage auction soon. I have attached the link below. I'm not sure how these salvage actions work (e.g. whether or not you need a dealers license, etc.) but you could get a decent A8 for pretty cheap, and I would love to see it go to someone on here.

As for me, I unfortunately could not get in to another A8 that met my list in the time frame I had, so I bought a 2012 Volkswagen CC with a 6 speed manual, a decent daily driver that I have always thought was very attractive.

I cleaned out the car and took some things that I will be posting on here first for you all to peruse and see if you'd like them. Things like an AMI cable, all weather mats, tools from the toolkit, etc. I will be taking detailed photos of all of the items as well. If anyone would be interested beforehand just PM me.
There is a lot to be said for taking care of your vehicle.
In 2000 I bought a new black-on-black Chevy Silverado 1/2 ton short bed std cab 4WD truck for $19, 500 OTD. It was a beautiful truck and I kept it immaculate. I added a snug top, alloy wheels, upgraded stereo, removed all the emblems from the exterior and had the windows tinted.
It was totaled three years later and the insurance company gave me $17,500. Even wrecked the truck looked amazing.
The insurance adjuster even commented on what a beautiful truck it was.

I wonder how much you would have been able to sell it for a minute before it got totaled? Dealer sale as well as private sale.

Where I live, three years of premiums with collision and Comprehensive would have been greater than the $2000.00 delta you experienced.
