Hey Guys,

I just picked up my 05 A8 and have discovered that the parktronic is just a acoutical beeping indication. But I've seen so many A8's that have a top view pic of the car come up on the MMI screen. I don't get any visual indication on the MMI screen, just audio beeps and the manual also doesn't indicate it.

Do I need an upgrade or something?

What cars have the visual come up on the MMI screen? I swear I've seen it other 05's I was looking at.

I believe the graphic display screen view began in '06.

Seems like a software update should exists, since both systems still use the acoustical system(?)

I agree that it sounds like a software thing that could be addressed with a software update. It would be nice to have as my old 2001 Benz had graphic indicators along with the acoustical ones. I'd certainly like to have it.

I saw a post over at NavPlus that indicates you can replace the parktronic module (apparently in the trunk by the DVD player) and then do some VAG coding and get the parktronic graphical display. I did some searching (not much, I was pressed for time) and couldn't find the part anywhere to see the price. The guy at Navplus has a European car, but that shouldn't matter. He paid about E140 for the part. Any insight from anyone else would be appreciated, because I would like to do this too.

I've got an 06 and only have the graphic park assist no camera. I had an 07 as a loaner and it had the camera.
