Default OKAY to Get 55k service from a non-AUDI shop?

I have 05-A8 CPO, is it okay to get my 55k service performed at a non-Audi dealer? Will that void my warranty?

Does anyone know of any good shps in the Maryland area that will be able to do the 55k service? I just do not want to spend the ~1k on service.

Default I think it's fine.

As long as the shop actually specializes in Audi's.

Default What in the world would they charge 1k for?

isn't it just plugs and an oil change?

Well that is what I thought after reading numerous posts on this forum that 55k service costs somewhere around $900.

Well, the plugs are $16 apiece, Oil filter is $18 plus a buck for two "seals", air filter is $65 (two on the 12 cylinder model), Cabin air filter is about $45, Brake fluid flush is probably $100, I'm sure they find that you need a liter of hydraulic fluid for power steering. Maybe some of the *special* purple engine coolant at $25/gallon. Let's not forget the $8/quart motor oil....

Then there's "shop supplies" and used motor oil disposal fees.

That's why I, the Audi A8L demographic reject do my own repairs and maintenance.

Default Heh, I can source....

The plugs for 8 bucks a piece. (at least thats what it cost me for my B6 S4) Filters I can get for cheap at the VW dealer, same with air filter and cabin filter. I'll generally buy the service dept breakfast from D&D and bring my own supplies, and they knock an hour or two off in labor.

Default Try This Shop...

Pro Imports in Rockville. I know, it's a ways from Columbia (as a point of reference, they are within walking distance from Twinbrook Metro Station), but they do good work and charge reasonable prices. Ask for Patrick. Tell him Mr. Davis referred you.

Here They Are
