Default Some questions

Have you cleared codes before this scan ?
Some of them are showing 2003 - probably due to reset of MMI.
They also don't look radically different than your scan here https://www.audiworld.com/forums/sho...ostic+standard
Specifically I see the alarm horn on 2012.03.17 in both scans - leads me to believe they haven't been cleared.

Did the installation list match up with what is in the vehicle ?

How old is the battery ?
We've seen flaky things with low/bad batteries, but not to this extent. Yet.

My gut says it's the CAN gateway.
First I'd clear codes, check installation list, and check the battery though.
Anyone else have additional thoughts ??

Gateway could also be it. Jeremy if you want to try the gateway give me a call I can sent it to you. Let me know. Maybe worth a try.

I wouldn't change anything before clearing all those faults and performing fresh clear scan. Also check Installed List in Gateway.

Brand new battery. The list does match up on gateway. It's kinda strange how it boots up and then just shuts down after 5-10 seconds and all the buttons by the shifter for the control pad for the mmi light up red at the same time......

Mishar I thought I cleared all those codes and they just keep coming back. Like all the component cannot be reached ones.......

Viper thanks I might try that if I can't get something else figured out

If you trust the scan then this scan said everything is working - The only one that can cause the problems of controlling everything is the Big MMI **** and all the switches around it. The x-owner must have spilled coffee or water on to it.

Cheers,

Louis

So there's a good chance the symptoms sound like maybe a stuck button??

Doesn't sound quite like that is going on w/ yours, but just in case.

Possibly, see above response.
There are several threads detailing R&R and cleaning.

It's a no/low(er) cost place to start.

Then, as Misha said clear the codes.
What I'm not liking about this issue is that so many modules cannot be reached or are malfunctioning.

By process of elimination I would:
- clean MMI control panel
- clear codes
- if situation persists, unplug module 07 electrically and try clearing again
- if persistent, move on to CAN gateway

Since little has changed after replacing 07, that may not be the source of the problem.
Because the battery regulation module cannot be reached I'm suspicious of it shutting systems down thinking the battery is flat and/or not being able to control them properly as the voltage messages indicate.
Which also makes me wonder why a brand new battery - did the PO jumpstart it incorrectly and fry the BMM ?
That would be my next stop after the gateway.

This wasn't a 'flood car' by any chance was it ?

Just updating everyone it ended up being my controls that were bad as well like Louis said. I bought a different of controls and now the MMI works just have to get component protection removed bc there's no sound. THANKS for everyone who helped me with this! I do have another question about the software. The control head I purchased from viper was already updated to the 4610 software. Now I'm guessing my old unit was not and either were all the modules. Should I go ahead and run the upgrade again so all my modules are updated to match the control head? Thanks guys!!
