Default Soft close doors

Got an '06 A8L.

So admittedly never even realized that the A8s had this feature, until I saw someone post about it. Went to check mine out...and apparently the back passenger door is the only one it "functions" properly on based on my tests. The other 3 doors I close them, and they never auto-close.

Anything I'm doing wrong? Or setting that can be changed? Or are they just prone to failure and that's why 3 out of the 4 don't work?

Settings can be changed in VCDS.
More likely the microswitches that detect door closure have failed over time.

So does this mean that this is an function that can be turned on via VCDS for every A8? Or this is an option item?

And, of course, codes can be retrieved at the same time. Preferably, prior to changing any settings.

Thank you mishar ~ (I do learn a lot from you )

I am wondering if this option can be recognized by looking at the doors of the car?
Any outside appearance differences between doors with and without soft-close feature that can easily be recognized?

Can't help you there. I don't have that feature. I may be wrong but I don't miss it at all. This doors are closing nicely anyways.

I'm pretty sure that if one of the doors is soft close, all four would be (unless for some reason, that door had been replaced by previous owners!).
