Letting the engine roar...

I have seen YouTube videos of the A8s with Magnaflow exhaust and it sounded pretty good. If you go to their website they have a system for our cars for $968. Back in my younger days I used to have a Mustang GT with the 5.0 with many upgrades; that thing roared! There is an older S4 near me that I see often and when he gets on it, you'd swear it was a Corvette or some other muscle car...that is how I'd like my A8 to sound also, but a decent exhaust then intake; the $$$ adds up.

I agree on the point about the air intake flaps, when working they do enhance the note. Also putting in a K&N filter also amps things up a bit, tho that's a controversial suggestion!

Anyway, I'm 35 now, I know, so old..ha! I have an old 76 f250 with a ridiculous loud exhaust, no need for that on such a refined automobile as this to prove anything to anyone. Those that count, know it when they see it, or hear it. But then again, who really cares what they think when you know what you know is a fine piece of machinery. The subtle beautiful raspy tone of the magnaflow exhaust is really just for my ears going down the road.

Well, I did it. I chopped off the mufflers, ran 2.5" out from the cuts. Stock look, only larger. Exhaust note is significantly different. I'm waiting on the new pipes to 'carbon up' to figure out if I like it or not.

Yes, will do. At WOT it sounds like a beast! So far the only part I am not liking is that there is more "rumble" around 2500 rpm than I appreciate.
I left the center x-over and smaller upstream resonators in place.
