Default Its a good day for quattro in SE PA....

I took the fiance to work today in Malvern. On the way we turned out from a road right next to plymouth meeting mall on to Germantown Pike. Germantown Pike as a few of you might know is rather hilly in that section. Well guess who was holding up a huge line of cars? BMW 550i going I kid you not, sideways up germantown pike. I would hate to be that cars rear differential today.

I thought I got camera phone pic but the damn thing didn't save it. It was hilarious watching this guy struggle. I started to feel slightly guilty and sorry for him, until I noticed he had M5 wheels on his car. I then saw the front tread patern was that of our perenial favorite michelin pilot sport summer tires. I honked my horn and waved at that point. Obviously he was wealthy enough to buy the car but not smart enough to know summer tires no worky in winter, especially in snow.

None of the other rear drive cars behind him had as much trouble as him. Either that or he cleared the pavement for them.

Default You live!!!!!

Give me a call when you get a chance, been trying to get a hold of you for a while now.

Had nero M+S on the Black S4 but I never had the nerve to use them in winter. They're more summer oriented of the all season tires.

Should be okay just like everyone else just keep some distance.

Default i think you'll be fine.

xdrive has worked well...we've had almost 150" of snow.

the 535xi has Conti snows and i'm running the OE all season RFT Contis on the 335xi. the all seasons aren't as good, but it gets around.

I thought quebec requires people to have Snow tires on their cars during the winter.
