I've never fought with home link until meeting and moving in with my wife. She has a liftmaster. LM seems to always fight.

I'm bumping an old thread because I can no longer program homelink.

Last week my old garage door opener sheared the gear, and yesterday I installed a new garage door opener. They are the same brand, so I thought programming would be no big deal.

I cleared all codes by holding down buttons 1& 3, and then depressed button 2 (the one I desired to use for the opener) and went outside the car and held down the garage door opener remote button by the drivers side headlight. I've done this process no less than 5 times. The car is not learning the code. I've tried various distances, various angles. no dice.

This is a rolling code opener, but it's not even getting to step one of learning the remote code as of yet.

Any insight?

This is how I did mine. Sometimes you have to use a different remote if one already used by another car.

Brand new lift unit and remotes. Never programmed to any other car. This programming was not a problem with an older lift unit by the same manufacturer. I did watch your video last night, and that procedure has not worked for me with this new lift unit.

Did the remote blink your car when you push the garage remote?

New garage door openers use an updated Homelink protocol that older Audis don't do.
I had to buy a compatibility bridge, and then train the Audi to it's remote;

Ahh... I was wondering if I "aged out' of modern electronic door openers. Thanks. I'll look into this.
