Head gasket, redux

Unfortunately working for an Audi dealership isn't always recommendation. Based on his conclusion I really doubt that it is result of VAS scan. Find somebody with VCDS and scan it.

I am wondering if anyone has driven a car with coolant path to combustion chamber? I drove a FIAT for a month like this (fun stuff) and took down a Porsche 928 Engine with a head gasket leak, water jacket corrosion eating its way into the combustion seal.
Difficult start was the final stage in the FIAT, sending a plume of steam across the parking lot/road and this was in the winter too. But it ran until I took it down.
So did the Porsche, ran great.
When an engine stops, the coolant pressure spikes and without combustion chamber pressure/exhausting, squirts coolant into the combustion chamber. It will NOT hydro lock, the clearances are minute and there isn't enough pressure there to drill in enough coolant at a low-loss observed stage.
Easiest test for the theory is to add Prestone Stop Leak, and see if that improves the situation. If not, then the hard start is another issue.
If a car fails to start after sitting, check the fuel pressure before starting.
Oil ingress may also be an issue (valve stem seals). To test for valve stem seals use the lightest weight oil possible 0W15 and that should improve the condition.
