Default Fuel filter

I'm about to do a fuel filter change and was wondering if it is best to get it (filter) for the dealership or can I get it from my local auto parts store. Thanks for any input

Thanks for the reply, will order one from them. Curious what the dealer wants for one, may go and see. So it's best to use OEM and not the parts store stuff? I guess?

Advance auto parts. You don't need to get the OEM one. I can't remember which one it was that worked. My 05 had the fuel filter with only one outlet on each side, and my w12 had one outlet on one and 2 on the other side. My dealer wanted something like $40+. What a darn joke.

Regardless I got it for very cheap and within 10 minutes from my nearest auto parts store. Also I think it was a Mann filter FWIW.

Thanks for your input, I just was not sure if the after market stuff was any good, that's why I asked. I do have a few auto parts local.

Sorry, that was wrong link. Check it again. I don't think you can find it any cheaper and this one is OEM.

Default About

5-6 years, 75-90K miles. No magic to this, but about when I go after the other (non) "lifetime" fluids and other long term service items.

I have a 2006 4.2L with the sport package and have the 2 inlet, one outlet filter. I am told it has a pressure regulator in it. This model year seems to confuse all the car part databases, and none of the local guys seem to have this filter. My local Audi dealer wants $100 for it!

The part number on the current filter is :4E0201511A
ECS shows this part number when searching: 4F0201511E

They look similar, but I imagine the F version is for FSI engines so it probably has a higher set pressure? Looks like the discount Audi dealers have it online for more like $70, but is there an aftermarket filter that will work?

Thanks!

Oh Audi.. What jokers lol

If you would have read the thread that you posted in you would know the answer to your question.

http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...rm=fuel+filter

There is the filter I put on my 2005 4.2. Should be the exact same thing as your 2006. If for some reason it isn't when you buy it from the store (should be two ports one side 1 other side, ignore picture), if for that reason that isn't the case; have them look up the fuel filter for a 2007 A8 w12; that for sure has the 3 ports your looking for. I've replaced the filter on my 4.2 and my 6.0l w12 and these are identical quality but 1/10 the price.
