First Oil Change experience on my A8L
Surprisingly in just over a month time of owning my A8L I realized it was time for me to get an oil change. (I know it's supposed to be every 10K).
I wanted to get the first one under my belt because it is a used car and who knows how long the car sat before I took it home...
So now the fun begin, I wasn't to sure of any garages in my area that deal with Audi so I did the next best thing start calling dealerships for prices...
Audi of Chantilly $250
Audi of Silver Spring $225
Audi of Arlington $140
Ummmm what's wrong with this picture??
Is this normal?

My friend got two quotes for an oil change on his 07 S8 the other day. $370 from one dealer and $450 from another....he called me and we did it in an hour in my garage because that's how long our conversation was.
The parts cost him about $90.

I bet Audi of Arlington "forgot" to quote you synthetic oil, or something.
Wait for your brakes to wear out.... Muwahahahahaha!
You think an OIL CHANGE is expensive?
These cars are EXPENSIVE - to purchase, and to service. The dealer service even moreso.
Welcome to the AudiWorld. Be rich; be a DIYer, or find a good indy who's honest (giggle).

$220 is about right if it is 2007+. 8 liters of synthetic oil, oil filter, 1 hour labor and miscellaneous.
$250 if it is 2004-2006. It would take more time. 1.5 hour actually is not bad.
What about your pictures? If you think that she is thirsty wait when she is empty (~22 gallons). Premium of course.
Edit: Look at that shop! Somebody has to pay for that.

I take mine to an Indy if I don't want to do it myself. That or in the winter time it don't do it myself. $50 worth of oil, $20 filter, $100 labor at my indy

Easy enough to do it yourself if you are capable to. Order the correct filter, head to wal-mart for the correct oil and a set of rhino ramps. I used a 6gal bucket, but I'm sure a 5gal bucket would fit nicer. VCDS to reset the service reminder.

My technique also. Only add is the two way pump for vacuuming out the oil. With the 26.00 jugs of 0W-40 it is closer to 55.00 parts.
