Default Engine hood "open" Light on

This car sure doesn't care for cold weather! Besides the trunk light hinge problem, my engine hood "open" light is on. Does anyone know where the sensor is that may be sticking? An any ideas on how to fix the cause?
Thank you for any an all replies.

I'm not 100% sure and don't have access to theBentley manual today. Since I don't recall seeing a mechanical switch in the engine compartment; it might be in the lock mechanism above the radiator. Try spraying WD-40 where the hood "pins" go when locked. Then operate the release handle (by the driver's left foot if a left-hand drive vehicle) several times.

Only other possible area would be in the hinge area.

Also look for disconnected/broken wires if you find a switch in either area.

Let us know if you sove the problem.

I had this same problem on my 2004 a few times and fixed it by oiling the two latch points for the hood. I believe the sensors are located in them as well. They tend to get a little rusty, and the one on the driver's side was stuck open and wouldn't engage when the hood was closed. A little prying with a thin screwdriver to 'click' it back into place and some WD40 seemed to do the trick.

I had the same issue when it was really cold last month. I just used the screw driver to click the (drivers side)latch back out a few times (Didnt have the WD40 on hand) and it started working fine again. I havent had any issues with it again.
