Is there a tune out there for the S8 that gives a 40hp bump, if so which one is it?

APR offers a tune for the V10, 450---> 472hp. At one point in time I wanted that along with the full milltek exhaust.

The mirrors are the brushed aluminum that come on all the S cars. Pimp my ride, are you guys serious? Obviously you like your car to look like something from the 80's! I like my vehicles to look like the way the designers and manufacturer made them for that model year.

You probably wear socks with sandals as well. I'll confess that in 1975, I did wear sandals with black socks & jeans. When a rather attractive girl pointed out that the combination made no sense, I took her advice and vowed to never do that again. Lesson learned.

Look at all the new Euros, no chrome except for maybe the grill. The car looks much sportier. The black wheels are just for my winter setup but they look good on the car none the less. Obviously people around here are afraid to step outside the box when it comes to personalizing their car. To each their own; My A8 has chrome on the emblems and grill. The other trim appears to be brushed aluminum with a US26D (stainless steel) finish. I see you kept your chrome Audi emblem up front. I've seen others black them out.

The car just had way to much chrome, with everything body matched the car looks smaller and sportier. Again, to each their own.

"Pimp my Ride" I bet you get super excited every time you get a chance to use that lame *** line! Nope, no excitement. it was just my initial thought. You sure seemed to be excited with the dual exclamations when you mentioned that the chrome is a thing of the past.

For me, if I want an updated look, I would probably buy a different vehicle.

For speed limiter removal and a few more horsepower, see Unitronic-chipped.com In your case, do you want a Corvette, Mustang Boss or Challenger SRT to be able to pull away from your fine ride? Get the speed limiter removed. I'm sure you have super speed rated tires on those nice wheels.

Default I like the classy look of my A8L - S8 is sporty and

sure is not classy without the chrome... IMHO.

What's wrong with the look of this car? I like it.

Again, I don't have the money for the S8 because I'm saving up my money for my D4 or Panamera in a few years.

It's actually fun to try NEWER A8L every few years.

With all dark stuff on the car, it doesn't look like an Audi A8 anymore, more like Chrysler of some sort. Again, it's everyone different taste, but don't put other's down.

Cheers and I'm happy for you,

Louis

There are tasteful mods, like suspension drop, putting S8 grille on A8 model, getting nice classy wheels, stuff like that. But when you plastidip your 50-100k car, it is a bad mod. Stuff like that works well on Honda Cyvic, Acura Integra and similar. Its kinda like putting Led Headlights on old Saturn. It just looks funny and out of place, because you know it does not belong there. When I see tuning like that, I always think of a younger male who watched Fast and Furious too many times. I just for a car like this, the S8 V10 shows other drivers everything they need to know, and blacking out your grille not going to make it look any sportier. I guess this mind set will come to you with age, for me it came when I was about 25

Maybe my Dinan S2 M5 and V10 Touareg look ricey or out of place without chrome as well? Or maybe you're just old and wise and have never had a sense of style? Chrome is outdated even the Harley riders out there have embraced that. There is nothing about chrome or putting an S8 grill on an A8 that says classy. Sometimes people just don't have what it takes when it comes to making things look good. Rather than always say you're older and wiser simply say you're older and don't want to accept it. There is nothing fashionable in your life so I wouldn't expect your car to be either. You may be wise but you're also dated, now go lay back down.

That statement right there speaks volumes...because we all know ape hangers are way cool Dude! If you want to turn your car into a JC Whitney cover vehicle, knock yourself out. What's next?...plasti-dipped Buick port holes on the front fenders?

We who are "old and wise" and even some who are young mostly agree that you seem to be better suited to VWVortex.

If you're joking with Basarab and Misha I apologize; but I think your recent comments have been less than courteous, just a bit of advice.

RE Your car, I don't think I could bear removing the S8 badge on the rear but I have always loved the look of the debadged D3 rump. Take 'em rings off!

Also the chrome (aluminum trim around windows) looks far better on light-colored cars than on dark ones, I don't think anyone's mentioned that yet.

I'm brand new here but I can't help but wonder why the hate? It's your car - do with it as you please. When you post pictures you must realize that we're not your Mom - not everything is worthy of being hung on the refrigerator. Expect praise and criticism. Most importantly, be man enough to hear from both sides without the personal bashing. I see this same b.s. on every forum...
