So in other words dey went and fudged up on reassembly huh. Get them to send a new part out and mechanic to fix the job or send a new engine. Or you can charge them the parts and labour for the work you did yourself. That’s what I would do any ways. The one I bought has a rock solid engine in it so can’t complain. Not even the typical valve slap most Audi’s have lol
Supposedly it was a 40K Mile take-out. and that crappy thing is I did NOT want to go through all this crap, Had I known what a PITA this would be I would have bough a shortblock… My heads from my other engine are still good... as is the intake... Oh well E-bay here I come... The O rings on the coolant pipes we VERY hard and brittle... So these are a replaceable part (Lets say every 10 years)
Was looking at other V10s, and In the Schematics for the lambo engine, They have external block off plates in the back... not sure how the heads get their coolant? (Bullstuff.com) The REALLY funny thing was seeing the SAME exact Temp Sensor that I have on my 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo, used on the Lambo Engine with one big difference.. My sensor is $35 They want like $265 for the exact same sensor.. Wow.. Im going to get s8 sorted drive it for about 3 to 4 months then sell it.. I want to get a 2010 or newer S4 as a daily... I don't think an S8 is a practical daily...Im sure I love it though!

yea it does have a fun engine tho lol. This was my plan from the get go as well fix then resell. It still has a good high price for resell. My old 1998 audi a4 2.8l had a funny coolant system that started leaking. It had a coolant pipe under the intake system that went to both heads. Couldn't figure out where my leaks were it only leaked while sitting. Came across a post that mentioned the pipe under the intake and sure enough 3 new o rings solved my issue. And of course new gaskets for the intake lol
