Air suspension rebuild kit
I was browsing on aliexpress to add touchscreen to the a8 and I stumbled across a rebuild kit for the air suspension. This is the first rebuild kit I've seen.
Air suspension repair kits for Audi A8 D3 4E front-in Chassis Components from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group
Obviously quality is a huge unknown, but I thought I'd share.
Also found the compressor.
GENUINE OEM SUSPENSION COMPRESSOR 6 or 8 cylinders FOR A8 D3 4E QUATTRO 4E0616005 / 4E0616005H-in Suspension from Automobiles & Motorcycles on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

Alibaba is like eBay on steroids when it comes to counterfeit merchandise. It is a very safe assumption that any automotive parts for sale on Alibaba that are coming out of China (and especially those labeled OEM) will be counterfeit. And yes, I am aware that Porsche's supplier for the 918 body panels produces some of those parts in China... blah, blah, blah

I see the cheaper remanufacted suspension on eBay, I'm guessing they are using the Chinese parts vs Arnott's higher quality parts.
They also have just the rubber dust cover boots if yours is ripped, or various internal and external parts of the suspension.
I'm not saying this is the way to go, but for someone, it might be the only choice for a bit.
Also, I sent a Chinese body parts supplier an email asking about the engine splash shield, it's way over priced for the a8. They had it for 04-07, checking for the 08-09, waiting on prices for both.

Genuine WABCO compressors were made in France. These have been discontinued for OEM production. The new service parts are now being made at their Hannover, Germany plant.
The "service kit" which is a new piston ring is not a genuine part as WABCO discontinued them about seven years ago. The ones they made all went to Audi & Mercedes for distribution to their dealers.

I just purchased and installed the rebuild kit for my 04 a8L from www.bagpipingandy.com and it works great. About $59 US and it came in the mail with the replacement piston ring, two gaskets and some wire ties. My Independent shop in Phx did the work and he was impressed. It popped right back up and is fully efficient. Game changer.

I also changed the relay and fuse at the same time though.
regarding the trunk motor anyone know the prices from that link above? Do you think a forum bulk buy would be a possibility as so many people have the trunk problem?
