OP I have a spare from a 2004 that did not work in my 05. Different part numbers. If interested I would sell for cheap. Like $40 shipped. Let me see if I have images/part number around here. Memory tells me it is a 4E0 910 517 A My 05 was a B

CU52.

Default I will pull the pump.

I looked at trying to remove the controller. Cannot see what I am doing.
I has been 4 - 5 years since flushing the brake lines. Was good at getting the air out of the ATE pump and lines on the 335i. Have a power bleeder.

My ABS pump on my 06 A8 would stay on when the car was shutoff and would make a buzzing sound. ABS brake light on so I pulled a used pump from another 06 A8 will see if my problem goes away.

[QUOTE=ronnjr04;25374263]Hey gang can anyone tell me if you can rebuild the ABS module on an 2004 A8L & if so is it cost effective or just go ahead and buy a brand new one? Thanks[/QUOTE

Go get o Module Master website. One Bosch controller and pump is 160.00 to rebuild. The other 300.00.
There are pictures. I have the 300.00 one. It is in route now to Idaho.
It was a 3 hour job for me to remove. Maybe 2 hour next time. Lot of things in the way.
The main difference I saw on the two pumps was the number of screws. The 300.00 rebuild model has six. The 160.00 rebuild module has four on main body and two on a separate part. You should be able to see to determine before removing.
I expect to be out less than 400.00 total will h repaired module and pump. Lines need flushing, did it in 2015.

I have these symptoms exactly as audijim113 describes. ABS light, ESP light, Parking brake light, no speedometer, no power steering, lift mode inactive. It is intermittent too, so far. Anything else to check before sending the ABS module out for repair? Could it still be the brake pedal switch?

I checked and Cheap ABS Repair is not taking orders right now due to him temporarily relocating. His message says he will be out the month of October, but he is still out. Anybody recommend a good reputable alternative ABS module rebuilder?

I think there is a service called "Master Module Repair" or something like that. Didn't know that Cheap ABS was moving. I haven't spoken with Matt (owner) in a couple years. If you were able to talk to him, my guess is he'd have an alternate suggestion.

My advice for those brave (folish) enough to try and rebuild yourself. DON"T EVEN TRY.

Also "swapping" a used one.... DON"T. Even if it is the exact same unit, it is like "swapping" a "used" prostate from a 70 year old guy and a 99.9% chance it is developing early stages of slow growing cancer.

If you can't afford a new unit, installed and coded by AUDI dealer, the only sure way is to have yours rebuilt and it won't need any coding.

DA8: I tried all of the alternatives, including brake pedal switch, ABS sensors and digging in the wire loom for frayed wires. None worked.

The only thing that might possibly work is to install a industrial freezer unit in your garage, keeping the temps below 10 degrees. I'm pretty sure the ABS module wouldn't fail, but leaving your garage "might" present a problem.

I'm having the same issues also, I get implausible data recieved from ABS control module on vcds. ABS, ESP lights, loss of steering, no speedo, MPG inaccurate, thinking the module repair is in the near future. Having got to check the wiring yet.
