Default ABS ESP Bosch 5.7 unit - can I replace?

Hello all.

I am very sad with this mistake with my car.
I own Audi A8 D3 03 4.2i 246KW for one year.
One sunny day, I just washed my car and I had a stupid idea to wash my engine
After this I have problem with eletronical parking brake, and parkikng lights was ON and etc.
So I putted the ABS ESP Unit out of my car, I can see, that isn't originally, because on this unit is write: "A8 04 4.2" so it is from some car cemetery.

I need to know, which unit should be there by the VIN code.
And which unit I can replace.

So I had in my car this:
Here you can see the errors before I washed my car, so mistake with communication was there allready.
And this is reason, why I am thinking, that this unit isn't originally from factory.

On the hydraulic block I have number: 4E0 614 517 L.
I can have used unit with number 4E0 614 517 BC from A8 2007. Can I use it?
What I must doing after replace this unit in my car? I must put correct coding
like was on the old one? So it means 0008597?
My VIN code is: WAUZZZ4E04N003347. I was in AUDI in Czech Republic, and they told me, that they cannot give me a number. They can only repair my car.
I can't get my car from my garage withou lift! And Without ESP I cannot activate lift on my air suspension

It looks like you have bigger problem than just ABS Module. Your harness is melted and pins on the module burned indicating short circuit. Finding it can be very difficult. You also have to replace that harness.

ABS block has two parts that can be independently replaced. Hydraulic block and electronics. Problem is usually only with electronic module and it is cheaper to replace only that. Part that you can get will probably work with your car, but be careful with that short circuit. If it is something else in your car it will burn that replacement module too.

Default Looks really hard unfortunately

There are companies that rebuild ABS modules here in the US. I assume there are in Europe too. I had it done on my 2000 A6. But since that A8 one is melted/damaged, I agree it will take a replacement. I have no information on compatibility. I also wonder if the ABS module is subject to Audi component (anti-theft) protection, which in turn requires an Audi dealer repair facility to recode it.

As Mishar said, the fried connector is tough as well. You should inspect if the wire insulation just upstream of the connector is also fried, indicating a short is likely somewhere else. It is very hard to know if the short happened inside the box, at those connector pins, or somewhere else. Audi sells connector housings for many things and I have changed them before, but never for anything approaching this complication; I have done only things up to about 5 or 6 pin MAF and oxygen sensor connectors. They also sell jumper pin connectors that you splice in for damaged or broken pins. But here, first you need to be sure where the short occurred before a reconnection and possible repeat of the problem.

Thank you all for your answers.
As I wrote, I can buy another complete module with harness too.
I am planning to re-Pin this harness for sure. I don't want it in my car.
This another ABS Unit with harness I can buy only for 150 USD, and that is very nice price for me.
I was asking for component protection and answer is, that for ABS ESP unit isn't use, so one good news for me.

Do you know, where I can find audi part numbers of ABS unit, which I can use in my car?
How big differences are between this numbers? Because If I want to buy new one, I can't, becase this Unit with my audi number isn't longer in produce.

And I have ELSA Win, so before I put new ABS Unit, I will meassure all PINs in the harness for sure.

Thanks for link.
I am try to search but on online ETKA.
On the picture, you can see what I can use.
And the ABS Unit which I can buy, I think that I can use, only one description is with the year.
Which I had, was until 24-11-2013 and which I can have is from this date.
My car is 23-06-2003. But by VIN code I have mode 2004. It is strange, do you think, that should it work?

If there is nothing wrong with hydraulic part (most probably it is OK), you need just part number 21 from that picture. They sell it separately in US and it is ~$400. I can't help you with compatibility. You need somebody with ETKA who is able to do search by VIN. Dealer can do that, but apparently they are not willing to do so.

Yeah you are right. I check the price for this part number 21 in Czech and cost is more then 1000 USD. So this isn't cool price Part number is: 4E0 998 375 A
By VIN code I got information from BOSCH about unit which I can use and numbers are:
4E0 614 514 L or S or E or N. On this information, I suppose that I can use ABS unit from newer model (more then 24-11-2003). Because 4E0 614 514 N if from this newer model.

So, I have new informations, which can help any others users.

So last weekend I started to re-PIN the 42 PINS connector from ABS Unit.
I saw, that someone did something wrong with this connector. Because there was missing rubber around the PIN and small rubbers around pins which should be inserted into the connector.
This is the reason, why I had this issue!

Anyway, after repining this connect, I put new ABS Unit with number 4E0 614 517 BC and everything seemed to be ok. I try to communication through the VCDS and the ABS unit was working! So I was very happy.
Until time, which I wanted to put CODE into this ABS Unit. Everything was ok until recalibration of G85 sensor (steering angle sensor). It's seem that this unit can't communicate with this steering angle sensor.
In measure block I can't see any data of angle. There is only -2,5° of angle. If I tried to rotate with steering wheel, this value is still -2,5°
In ETKA I can see two different steering angle sensors. If I will try to get the newer, do you think, that it will work?
Or how I can measure this G85 sensor (steering angle sensor)? It is possible to measure it?
