A shoot out to BAR Tuning
Read some mixed comments on a Houston Audi specialist. Very poor on Audiworld, very good on local sites.
Called, made an appointment for timing belt and all bits. Was told to drop off at 8:00, pick up at 5:00 in a week.
Called to verify a couple days early and they ordered all the parts. Used OE, all the way.
I was worried on arrival, there were 20 Audi's there and more dropping off. Plus some outback.
He few employees told me I had an appointment and priority over walkins, even long time clients.
The called at 10:00 to say the car was perfect, wanted okay to start the timing belt. Repeated the car would be ready by 5:00.
Arrived later than wanted, 4:45. Saw two men hooking the headlights back up. And wiping off the top of the engine. They pulled it outside at 4:50.
A lady in front of me on checkout talked the whole 15 minutes. Paid the bill and was driving off at 5:01. Did not thank Mike Staley, my phone was blowing up and wanted to get moving before returning the 12 missed calls that came in while car owner BS'ed to Mike.
But, car seems perfect, cost was exactly what was quoted, and was returned in one day on time. I listened to several enthusiastic owners sing the praised of BAR Tuning. One was a Staged A4 guy who seemed to be a regular. I was impressed that all customers welcomed me. Said I would not regret bringing car to this shop.
So if anyone needs work done close to Houston, BAR Tuning get my recommendation.
So farm, the body shop ran an extra two weeks, underestimated amount of labor needed to reshoot the air effects, the stereo shop one extra week, drivers door window controller, MMI gears, hum in aftermarket 5 channel amp, and loose glove compartment, and even Discount Tires took two days to replace TPMS.
So far only Solgie's Alignment and BAR Tuning have finished car on time. This is a real indicator of businesses that understand Customer Service.

Well done to those guys.
I have been told by many sources that the A8 is one of the hardest cars to customise. I know from personal experience regarding the stereo and amps etc. it is the hardest car by far rip out and install a new system in and unless a company is doing them day in and day out the will definitely underestimate how long it will take.

At first I thought there was a shoot out at Bar Tuning , glad there wasn't though.
That's great, it's hard to find honest shops these days. Those guys have proven that they care about customer service and reputation. I have an INDY here that doesn't up sell and basically tells you what needs to be done vs what can wait.
Enjoy your ride brotha.
