2008 Audi D3 S8 vs others. Opinions needed!
I use my 2007 650i E63 BMW when i am in Philly, but I also spend 60 percent of my time for work in a foreign country so I need a 2nd car to use as a daily driver. I do a lot of highway driving. My commute is around 80 miles each way for work. Sometimes inhave to go on 5 hour drives. I am debating between the following : 2005 black E55 With 34k miles for around 16k, a 2005 black E55 with around 60k miles for around 14k! A 2006 E55 white with 42k miles! A 2004 silver E55 for 13k with 90k miles, a 2005 silver CLS500 with unbelievably 15k miles, a silver 2002 Cl500 with the AMG package and rims with 34k miles for around 10k dollars and a 2008 Audi S8 metallic blue fully loaded with every option with 37k miles for between 13 and 14k dollars. I plan on paying for as many pre purchase inspections as I need. Which one would you guys recommend? I am leaning on the Audi S8 over one of the E55s. Any input would be much appreciated.

The E is a little smaller compared to the S. Only worry would be reliability with the S8. E55 will be more reliable. I have a 2006 E350 (same cabin as E55) and it is very comfortable for long drives just like the S8. My A8 has sport suspension which is the same as S8 and it is very comfortable for long drives.

I would say the S8 would be more comfortable since it's larger and more luxurious. I would also say the E class would be easier to maintain since parts are so much more cheaper and available.

Not sure where this “foreign country” is, but for the miles you’re planning on doing, you’re going to be looking at some pretty hefty gas bills. All your options are serious gas guzzlers. How much does gas cost in said foreign country?
Your planned usage is the absolute sweet spot for a diesel vehicle. It would be a far more practical and cheaper option.
Lots of very nice high performance diesel Audi’s, BMW’s and Mercedes out there depending on the market you’re buying in.
