My old D3 S8. Loved the car! Insurance company totaled it out. Estimate was $17k to fix.

The estimate is attached to the original post. The bumper ($1,400), grill ($830) radiator ($950), fans ($1,500), condenser ($600)and headlights ($3,200). The headlights are intact, however the collision broke a clip so they need to be replaced.

If you get used headlights, bumper, fans, and grill, then that will drop the price considerably. Audi used to sell repair kits for headlights with broken clips.

Default 10k is way to much for that

Couple grand in parts plus paint, labor etc you'll almost be at book value and it'll have a salvage title. Those guys are bonkers.

Looking through the estimate, wonder what insurance company it was, they don't like to pay $58 hr body labor, let alone $112 mechanical, always chewing down the hours.

Mrs Bally hit a new in box hot water (at about 55-60 MPH) tank that was laying on a highway at night in a blinding snow storm. Took out everything except the headlights in front.

I bought the front end (minus fascia/grills and headlights) from a junkyard in Florida for $950.00 shipped. Bought a fascia with grills and fog lights from a backyard on the south side of Chicago for $850.00

It needs my color of paint. PPG pearl beige metallic is $299.00 for a quart.

My son & I provided the labor. I can see all new OEM parts and labor being $17k.

That's why I don't buy collision insurance. Not worth the price in Michigan.

Understood, after reading it several times.
