Bluetooth on any A8 D3 works only with a phone. Nothing else, unless you add some hardware. Than you can stream music. Maps and the rest only D4 and not all of them.

That's funny!, I think i'll bull**** a few buddies on that one and say it's a hybrid electric! My '02 has the solar panel. Seems to be ok, but I agree fan can only move so much air. Is this why I have the battery that looks like it's out of a D8 Cat!? It's huge! or are all 8's have this battery?

Does anyone know the name of the option/package that adds the stitched leather trim to the dash?

Thanks Paul.

I'm shopping around for quotes for an Audi Pure Protection extended warranty.
Got the quotes below from a dealer, still waiting on FD Warranty and others to reply with quotes.
For those who have experience with extended warranties, how do these quotes look to you? The vehicle in question is a CPO 2009 S8.

The pricing I am quoting is for a service plan through Audi and a $100.00 deductible, parts and labor are covered.

5 years/60,000 miles

Platinum plan…..$5337.00
Gold Plus plan….$4296.00
Gold…………………$3404.00
Silver……………….$2885.00
Powertrain……..$2536.00
As always, thanks in advance.

I wouldn't get the warranty as these cars are trouble free and parts are not too expensive in like my s55 amg save the money and just wait till anything goes wrong to fix it your self as not too many things will break in this car I have 2 06 a8l and a 04 a8l n nothing but minor things not worth 5k warranty

Added 450 more horses to the stable this weekend. Want to say thank you to everyone on this forum who helped. It is very much appreciated.

Haven't owned an automatic in 14 years. My left foot keeps reaching for a non-existent clutch.

I'll put together a write up of everything so the next D3 buyer can learn from my mistakes.

Congratulations! You won't regret it.

Be careful with that foot. A friend of mine found the brake with it wanting to shift first to second gear and his passenger, not using the seat belt, ended stacked in the footwell.

Welcome to the S8 Family!

BTW, which extended warranty did you get? I got the 48/60k for $4500 and it has been a wise investment (New Manifold and Fuel Injectors, new front air suspension, water pump, right front passenger handle and shocks for trunk).

The car I bought has 2 years of CPO warranty remaining. After much research, discussion, and input from multiple points-of-view from non-involved Audi dealership F&I departments, I decided not to purchase the extended warranty at this time, and revisit the matter in 2 years when the CPO is due to expire, rather than paying for overlapping warranties. We'll see if that was smart or not in the long run.
