2008 S8 Electrical Problem
Hello All,
Apologies for first post being a question - but I guess this is how a lot of people find these forums?
Anyway - I have a 2008 S8 that has died - electrically.
This has now happened twice in the past 4 months - battery has been replaced, car has been in the dealers twice now for weeks - and had battery drain tests, alternator tests etc run - but they cannot find the cause of the problem.
Anyone came across anything similar?
Thanks

First of all, sorry for my English.
We have had the same problem with our A8, I found what was killin' our car using VAG-COM. I left our car for an hour untouched, then connected VAG-COM cable, and without switching the engine on, started scanning the car. There will be a replay from a controller wich isn't sleeping..

I had MMI Issues with B&O amp pulling everything down.
Have the dealer call the tech line if they havent already. maybe get AOA involved. My S8 has been in quite a few times for that and suspension issues.

Thanks - reckon it is sorted. They have replaced TV receiver unit - it was showing a fault but at only at completely random times - did not seem to be logged to memory. If all OK then well done to Edinburgh Audi service dept. Was not an easy one to track down.
Thanks for the replies!

I had the same thing happen. Changed battery and it happened again. I found a TSB that says the ENERGY MANAGEMENT system can actually be what is draining the battery. there is a software update disc to solve the problem. Did your dealer mention that they saw the TSB and did the update?
