I have people who do this for me less than 15 minutes. The hard part is to get all these correct components for the retrofit. If Navi only charge $100, it's a very good deal because the SAF7113H is hard to find and they're already cost $18. other components are cheap.

Now I'm looking for this black 9 bit video decoder SAF7113H.

Cheers,

Louis

My concern about sending MMI Module to Poland is that there are too many ways not to get it back. Any enforcement, including insurance, can be extremely complicated.

They should sell them charging for the core. PayPal would be good thrust for that if it works in Poland.

The reason we modify the original one in the US is for the CP thing. Yes, if someone has an extra one and use it as the core.
Let's see how the rework person does with this project, I'll figure out a plan for retrofit this for people up here.

Cheers,

Louis

Doing it here (US) would be way better. Things that we take for granted doesn't work in big part of the world. With all do respect, Poland is not my favorite that way. Even very friendly border between US and Canada can complicate things.

One core is not enough. You also need constant supply of cores since you will have people sending you broken cores (even here ). All together this can be a small side business for already established one. They will have more and more competition from junk yards. A8 needs just a notch to be totaled with this part prices and aluminium body. If software can be completely replaced it makes it easier to get one with F-bas.

First, I need to find out if it works with mine and I need to get the process documented well enough to do retrofit solidly for all version. According to the picture you sent and the picture the 'other' retrofit are different in a small section. I have no specs for the "complete" parts as your picture shows. I'll have to implement with the missing parts schematic first to see if it works. When everything is done and working, then I'll ask the rework lady if she wants to do some extra work at home for small fees. Since it's her specialty, reworking these components is as easy as a walk in a park for her.

The whole point is to do this on the original mmi module, and not have to pay the stupid dealer to remove the CP. Adding the parts to the board is very trivial. If you go to one of the other audi forums, they tell you the values for all the components needed.

Bangerla,
Thanks for the information, the picture from Kris is different from the one Mishar posted, some components weren't installed as Mishar's fully populated around the Fakra connector. That's my concern, I'll do the same as Kris' picture dictates. You don't happen to have the picture of your "reworked" FBAS head unit, do you? Can you take a picture of yours?

Thanks,

Louis

PS: I got all the parts except the video chip itself SAF7113H. Can't find it at any electronic retailer in the US.
