How about: buy a legit one?
Just a thought.
More generally, people often have problems w/ copies, up to and including labels coming off into the DVD player guts if it's an ebay hack job or some such pretending to be the real thing.

Maybe I am way off base here, but doesn't the navigation DVD go into the navigation DVD reader located in the left rear fender well? I have not done it myself, but I am pretty sure there is a DVD reader in there for navigation and the DVD does not go in the CD changer. That is how my 2005 is I believe.

If you are installing it in the DVD nav. player in the trunk, buy a legit nav. DVD as there is some encryption that a copy may not have. Or, find someone with an A6 or A8 and test in their car. You could have a bad nav DVD player.

If you can put it in the right hole and make it work I'd like to know how to get the free version you found. I don't have any need to give Audi another $200.
Rick is pirating in more ways than one.

OK... I see I may have the wrong dvd but, do you know which one I should be looking for, for my particular car? I also saw a reply that there is a dvd reader for the navigation update in the trunk near the right fender well?

Good copy would work...
I made a copy 2010 from A8 DVD nav and put it in my retrofit Q7 DVD and it updated fine after loading the original V6 navigation DVD. Burn and verify with the lowest speed possible.
loading original V6 DVD
update with 2010 DVD nav
Cheers,
Louis
