When did they stop making SWB A8s?

The OEM wheels are ok but.....
<center><img src="http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u103/vwgti16vt/VW%2016v%20GTi/IMGP2069.jpg"></center><p>I am just not a big fan of all the side wall. I also cant stand the body roll.
I love the way VW's and Audi's look from the factory. They just need to be low and on nice wheels
Here's a picture of my 1st year 1987 MK2 Factory 16v Gti
PSS9's, G60 corrado brakes, 2.0 16v, leather, Power Locks, Windows and Sunroof all factory! and a million other things....
I know its not an Audi but i hope you guys still enjoy!

I figured as much with your signature - VERY cool, got good taste, nicely done!
Extra points awarded for no stoopid Euro vanity plate - man are those lame. It's a shame much (most) of the VW crowd mods their cars into oblivion with shameless disregard for taste. Yours is the way it should be.
My bro had an '88 16v back in the day, I used to get to take it to school occasionally - man did I feel MACK!
Thanks for the throw back.
Do post up what you end up doing for wheels on that pretty burgundy machine, and also how you fare with Chris S. Tell him I sent ya (and it'll cost you more heh heh). He had that system sent down to //SFest here this summer for my oogling but I passed on it as I was too unsure the effect on sound. But it was in really good shape certainly and the price is right. Hope he's still got it for you...

i did contect Chris....
I did get a hold of him. I cant thank you enough for sending me his way. He did still have the exhaust. I requested a few pics and unless there's something major wrong with it i hope to have in my hands shortly.
Thank for the comments on my GTi. Euro plates that say things are gay and i am glad someone else thinks so. As far as modding my GTi goes. I have swapped out everything on the inside and out side with the 91-92 face lift stuff, but it all OEM.
I agree with you, all these cars looked great from the factory, add a few euro spec parts and a good set of suspension and its golden
I will keep you and the form updated as to my wheels choice. The exhaust is to good of a deal to pass up so it may push the wheels back a few weeks

NOICE!!! I'm glad it worked out, you can thank me later 8-). Did he charge you extra for saying...
...my name heh heh?
Def. shoot some pics when you get it on, and your thoughts on the sound.
That's going to be a killer combo when you're done, lowered, tinted, wheels, exhaust, burgundy. Very cool!
Your GTi sounds uberbadass! Dig the updated route!!! Def. got good taste there.
Yeah, vanity plates in general make me want to vomit, and euro ones are just as you said - GHEY! Not that there's anything wrong with that...

My SWB is a 2000..I'd thought that was the last year for them...

Nice GTI!
I have a MK3 VR Turbo myself, almost bought a LWB A8 but had it sold out before I could get the loan approved. A8 will be the 2nd car, when I need to shuffle people, can't really do that with a caged GTi.
