VAG-COM for the D3 A8!
The first production batch of HEX-USB+CAN interfaces has finally started to trickle in. Due to limited supply at the moment, we want to restrict sales to people who will actually use the full capabilities of these interfaces. In the US and Canada, that means D3 A8 owners and Audi Techs regularly working on these cars.
For new customers, the HEX-USB+CAN interface with the full version of VAG-COM will be priced at $349 plus S&H. Trade-ups will also be available to existing registered customers.
System requirements: A 500 MHz or faster Laptop with a USB port running W98, Me, 2000, or XP (XP is preferred).
We do not yet have a good list of modifications you can perform on a D3. One thing that should be doable is to alter the ride-height, in a manner similar to the Allroad or Touareg:

Obviously, you get full diagnostic access to all the systems in the car (typically 30+ control modules). Read and clear fault codes, look at all sorts of operating parameters, put test patterns on your MMI display, and so on..:-) D2 owners will attest how useful VAG-COM is on their (much less complicated) cars.
An interactive Demo/Manual is available here:

Again, CAN-capable interfaces won't be offered to the general public until next month sometime. In the meanwhile, anyone interested should e-mail me. My AudiWorld ID is also my e-mail addy.

PS: A serial version of the HEX+CAN interface (to accommodate older laptops) should be available next month.
