Tranny stuck in P and key stuck in ignition
Cant take the tranny out of p unless i warm up the car for 1hr.
If i leave it in N i can drive it normally.
Also cant take out the key out of ignition.
I think this is connected with water from the orange drains flooding my carpet, havent had time to diy this.
Car usually sits month and a half before i drive it.
What i can hear is a click with engine off when i step on the brake that i didnt hear before.
Checked all the fuses and they are all good.
All lights work.
Have a code for cruise control switch 17977.
If i leave it in N i can drive it normally.
Also cant take out the key out of ignition.

If I park nose-up on my sloped driveway and I get freezing rain or snowmelt re-freezing I get a stuck shifter also. If I park nose-down I think I do not. In my case it's mechanical but I could see how you might have an electrical issue due to cowl flooding also.

Is the key stuck in both Park and Neutral? What happens if you unplug the cruise control switch (brake pedal switch?)? I don't know the logic on these cars, but it sounds like your problem lies in the circuit/switch that energizes the solenoid to allow shifting out of park when depressing the brake pedal. I could be wrong, but that is where I would start checking. Take an Ohm meter and measure the continuity of the pins on the switch and see if they change when the switch is pressed. You should see a change from open circuit to closed circuit. Also check the wiring to see if you have the right voltage and ground on the pins. I wish I could give you information on which pins should have what, but someone else here might. Good luck.

There are two circuits on the brake switch and it's important both work as expected. If the cruise/ABS half of the switch is not operating it'll burn out the TC clutch. I think the other half is used for shift interlock.

There is an actual cable between the shifter and the ignition.
You can adjust it to get the stretch/slack out of it.
