Default starting problems

This is how it goes... In cold starts, just one try and the car is on... But when later on the day, I get really embarresed when the car will need more the three or free trys for it to start... especially when there are chicks around!
Please help me if anyone had similar problem... Is it a common thing with the starter or could it be something else??

Default How old is your battery?

Is it hesitant to turn over or does it just not want to catch?

Default I'm willing to bet that the cold start uses more fuel, etc. I would do some reading in the Bentley.

- or hope PaulW et al. read your post soon.

I did check the temp reading from VAGCOM and it is reading fine. So I guess that no... its not the temp sensors.
