Possibly lost my only fully function key fob
I have a valet key in the glove box and plan to call CAA to open the car and use valet temporarily. Called the stealership and they want $200 for new full key and $80 for valet key. My question is, the key fobs on ebay, do they work and are the programmable and how do I get it programmed?? Thanks.

I got an eBay key . .
Worked fine! I took it to my local locksmith and they cut it for me - $10. I programmed it myself using the owner's manual in a few minutes - no problem.
But, I had a '99 - no immobilizer. I'm not sure if that will work for your car.

Hey Thomas. How's the bimmer ? Which one...I think you said 540 .
Great news...the wife found the keys in my Jeep which is where I thought they were in the first place since I was moving cars at our place this past weekend. Big bender!! thanks for info. I will keep my valet in the house from now on till I get another key.
