Default Overheating problem!!! replaced a lot of parts....

...and still overheats in traffic, at about 90F outside. I think it might be clogged radiator? Do I have to get a new one, or I can just have the old one flushed? or is there something else that I have missed. All fans work fine, turn on and off when needed. When I put on heat in the car the temperature drops.

Things that have been replaced:
new water pum
thermostat 87 deg Celsius
oil culler pipe
fan clutch
electric fan

Default I had the same problem

It was a big mistery. It turned out that my ind. mechanic did not mix the coolant 50/50 with water. He poored concentrate straight out of the bottle when he changed the original fluid. Make sure you have the right mix in there.

100% 50/50 mixture of coolant and water. I did it myself.

Default You may be right

I had this on an 85 5000, and lo and behold after checking everything out I replaced the radiator and sure enough that was it. No obvious external signs other than it ran hot..

Default Re: Overheating problem!!! replaced a lot of parts....

are all the aprts youve installed original... i ask because i was facing the same problem and its turned out that the fan i replaced was not able to switch over to the higher speed required to cool it in slow moving traffic.

The clutch once replaced should not give you this problem, neither should the thermostat.

Also have th radiator cleaned by blowing compressed air though the fins. and then spray it with high pressure water...in that order.

My problem got fixed by replaceing the electric fan... ive also installled another smaller fan on the front of the radiator behind the bumper.
