Ok...doing some soul searching now....

Ignore my foolish tale! Buy that car before you get scooped!
One of the beauties of logic is that it's more malleable than people think. Demonstration: If Paul sells Car A for $9,000, and purchases Car B for $24,000, Paul has effectively paid $15,000 for a perfect specimen of an $85,000 car that's barely broken in! Therefore, Paul is a genius!
See? It's easy.

Now that there's more information in, I believe I have the perfect solution for everyone.
You buy Paul's A8 to drive when the weather is rough. Paul buys the immaculate Ming blue S8. You put your 525 on the market privately rather than trading it on this particular 911 -- maybe it takes you three months to find the buyer who's hot for just the car you're selling, but you don't get kicked financially.
In three months, if your business is still heating up, you fulfill your true dream by buying a cherry 911 Turbo used. Or one of these sick Techart 997s -- hard to find used, but not impossible. Think how much fun you'll have shopping for three months.

DOOOO EEEET!
I faced a similar situation when I was single and 26 - bought a gently used 928 and loved every minute of it. Got married, sold the Porsche, yada yada yada. Some day I'll be back in a P-car, but not until the youngest kid is out of car seats (or college?).
To add to the analogy below, remember that if you get the P-car, you'll attract many more Gingers than Mary Anns. Fortunately for me, I ended up with Mary Ann.

hmmmm....i dunno what kinda raise you think I got...but not enough for a 100k car...
if I was in the market for a 100k car...8k would probably be chump change and we wouldn't be talking about this! the 911 I'm looking at is half that!
I gotta eat ya know?
