Default Yes the new pump has bolts and both pumps have markings as to their polarity.

They are reversed. They are small and you have to look or you'll miss them. The VDO pump has a larger negative pole or bolt. The picture shows the Audi cable from the top of the housing that connects to the pump at the bottom and inside the housing. You can see the connector fits perfectly to the Bosch pump. Anybody could get fooled thinking this is the correct pump because the plug fits perfectly.

Default If you look at the Bosch pump (black one on right) you will see a + sign.

There is a - on the other side. The VDO is marked as well but it is reverse order.

My locking ring was on so tight that nothing would loosen it, had to get the tool.

You're doing this work outside in the snow? - I think that you get "real man" points for that.

Default What year model is your car?

My car is a 2000 S8, Engine code AQH. Ignition car parts dont reference this year model and are not sure if the pump referenced here is correct.

Can anyone confirm if it will work?

Thanks
